Feelings are not something that one can control, a pedophile does not choose to have sexual feelings for children, they simply have them. Feelings alone are not a crime.

ACTING on these feelings is the crime. It's called child molestation, statutory rape, or sexual assault. Not being a pedophile.

I feel sorry for pedophiles. :/ Not all of them (rapist) but those 'normal'...I was some time ago browsing internet and I found page for pedophiles - there are psychologists who leave here contacts for pedophiles and let them leave there questions etc. I read few questions.... they wrote how they'e depressed because they can't find girlfriend because they like little girls but don't want to rape...they call themselves ill and want to cure. They don't left their names I guess if someone find out that their neighbor is pedophile he'll call police etc. -_-
Psychologists left them answers how to solve their problems and gave them contacts. When I read it I just fell really sad. These people just can't have normal life because 'normal' people around will always see them as rapists because fucking media spread only bad news then people have feeling world is full of pedophiles and criminals. -_- It's like I call men rapist because almost everyday I read about some rape...at least one rape...everyday.... why people don't call men rapist who should cure? I am not feminist this is just example btw.
I hope 'good' pedophiles will live happy lifes even without partner.

That's actually quite a nice view on it, I like that.

I suppose liking children isn't really that different to children liking adults. Heck, the amount of teenage girls who fancy guys a lot older than themselves.

I think this provocative stamp highlights a very important juridical principle, which is, the legal norm only deals with exteriority. Though they may take intentions into consideration, laws do not intrude into the sphere of feelings. In modern democracies, there's nothing you can't think or feel towards anyone, as long as you don't put something illegal into practice.
Pedofilia is a very particular case, though. There are laws that severely punish the representation of child abuse, even though the depicted scene doesn't have nothing to do with reality. Publishing a pedofiliac comic can bring the author to jail, even if he/she didn't actually abuse underage models to draw those scenes; that's because it's considered an encouragement for a behaviour society strongly repels.
I can't say what you state here isn't formally correct, but I think you'll understand if I find this stamp provocative, and other people energically disagree with it. Its content may be true, but making such a stamp isn't really a good idea, I think.

I admire you for working on a such a sensitive subject for a stamp.
And I like how you managed to pull the space between thinking such thoughts and actually acting on them.

wow touchy subject i was a victim of one of these people but i have never read anything like this before . I understand what you mean but do you think it is the right thing to be posting in a sexual abuse group considering many people will not see your point ?

People need to understand what pedophilia is, whether they have been abused or not. There are people who think that all pedophiles should be in prison even if they have never acted on it and never will.

I was about to say... lol Reading through the comments, now I know what you meant. You should put some of your responses in the artist's comments- that way people don't get the wrong idea.

I agree 100%, and I'm glad that you're one of the few people who acknowledge the fact that they just need help from this mental illness, instead of saying that they just need to be exterminated. They deserve mercy and compassion- most of them have been victims sexual abuse as children, but some just genuinely do have a problem that needs treatment. Perhaps if society didn't teach boys to be ashamed of being raped, this would not be such a widespread problem.

God bless you for spreading awareness. :heart:
